Bible Discussion Group

The Bible is the most unique book of all history! God wants to speak to you, and the easiest way He will do it is through the Bible. Did you know that everything in life is a result of God’s word? The world was created by His word; you are saved by hearing and believing His word; and you grow into a stronger Christian by obeying His word. If you start early in your Christian journey reading, thinking about, and obeying the Bible, you lay a firm foundation for the rest of your life—one where you will receive direction, become wise, and lead others to Christ.

II Timothy 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

Psalm 19:7-8 - “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening eyes.”
Joshua 1:8 - “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

I Peter 2:2 - “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby.”
The Bible says "All Scripture is inspired by God...' . God gives us the Bible to strengthen us in our Christian life. How often should we read the Bible? Well, how often do we eat? We eat every day. In the same way, it is a good idea to read the Scriptures every day, to take in God's Word. "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path"

Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
"The word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two edged sword...” Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) and “Take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Ephesians 6:17 (NIV)
Our prayer is to motivate everyone at St Francis Xavier’s Parish to read the Bible. We invite everyone in the Parish to join our Group, which meets weekly on Friday nights at 7.30pm, in the Parish House meeting room. If this time is not suitable, we would like to encourage you to start your own Bible Study Group. We will be happy to assist you to do this.
