PARISH PARTNERSHIP

St Clare’s Box Hill North and St Francis Xavier’s Box Hill

VISION STATEMENT

We, the members of the parishes of St Clare and St Francis Xavier, in the care of the Franciscan Friars, are pilgrims travelling together in a Christian community of faith, hope, love and service. Imbued with the liberating spirit of the risen Lord, this community is welcoming, caring, worshipful, respectful, inclusive and expressive of the values of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We live out this vision by:

• Identifying and responding to the spiritual, physical and social needs of the members of our diverse parish families and wider society. We will endeavour to achieve this by being open to all, listening actively and responding sensitively.

• Acknowledging and affirming the gifts of all parishioners, by encouraging mutual support and involvement in using those gifts for the service of all and by bringing to our partnership the many fruits that have grown from the rich pastoral experience of both communities.

• Warmly welcoming all people with openness, joy and hospitality.

• Promoting participative collaboration, cooperation in the sharing of resources, effective communication, goodwill and increased social interaction between our two parishes and the wider community.

• Working collaboratively with our Pastor, Priests, Pastoral Councils, and other Parish Groups and Parish Staffs in proclaiming the Gospel, in developing and implementing initiatives, policies and programmes, and in administering our parishes.

As companions on the journey, we are invited to celebrate God’s presence in our lives and offer praise and thanksgiving to the One we serve.
